An independent school providing a first class academic education for boys and girls from the age of 3 to 16 Years

St John's School Porthcawl

Departments

St John’s caters for children aged from 2 years 6 months through to 16 years.  The school therefore has several departments with varied groups of teachers working with different age ranges.  However, it must be said that being a small, family type school there is naturally a great deal of contact on a regular and often a daily basis between departments.

Many of our pupils start in the Nursery class and remain through the school with us until they take their GCSEs, whilst others join at different stages but quickly feel part of our community.  We keep our class groups small to ensure that we can get the best from every pupil.  We give plenty of individual attention, stretching the more able and giving extra help if needed through our effective learning support teachers.

The links to the different departments provide general information about the structure of the school and the curriculum that is followed.

I have two children with very different needs and interests, St John’s enables them both to excel. Parent
