School Council

The School Council consists of a representative from every year group from Years 4 to 10 and two representatives from the Pre Prep.

The Council is organised by the Chair and Secretary, members of Year 11 and the Head Boy and Head Girl also take part.  Meetings are held regularly during a morning break and the Headmistress and Deputy Head are usually in attendance too. 

The main agenda of these meetings cover two areas; fundraising for various charities and ideas brought by the representatives from their classes about things they would like to happen or things they would like to change in school.

    “The perfect environment in which your child can learn and achieve.” St John’s is a small, coeducational and independent school set in its own beautiful wooded site. It is based in the attractive village of Newton close to the seaside resort of Porthcawl and has been on this site since 1921.

  • Taster Days

    We welcome prospective pupils to our free taster days. We also regularly hold Parent and Toddler sessions in our Nursery, as well as our termly Open Day when it is possible to visit the whole school .
