An independent school providing a first class academic education for boys and girls from the age of 3 to 16 Years

St John's School Porthcawl

Jennifer Sanders (know as Jenny)

I am married to Julian who has his own design consultancy in Cardiff (www.studiosda.com) and we have one daughter, Martha who is at present in year 8 at St. Johns School.

By profession I am a very experienced Senior Children’s Nurse, but following the more recent reconfiguration of Health Services in Wales I am now the Deputy General Manager for Women & Child Health Services within Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board. I not only have a wide professional experience related to Children & Young People Health Care but I also have significant experience related to Safeguarding (Child Protection).

I was Chair of the ‘Friends’ of St. Johns for six years which I found challenging yet very rewarding, encouraging other parents to be involved in supporting and raising funds for the school that benefits all our children.  Our motto was ‘Help us to Help our school’ which I am still a firm believer in.

The reason I volunteered to be a Governor at St. John’s School is that I am committed and feel passionate about the strategy of St. Johns, that each child should be given the opportunity to achieve their potential both academically and personally.  There is a strong holistic view of developing children, which I fully support and advocate as an essential quality of any good school.
